Professor Andreas Fath and Olympic champion Leonie Beck on board the ALDEBARAN in Hamburg

We were delighted to welcome Professor Andreas Fath on board the ALDEBARAN after he had swum the Elbe from Dresden to Hamburg. Olympic champion Leonie Beck accompanied him on the last leg of his journey. Prof. Fath, also known as the "Swimming Professor", swam 40 to 45 km a day along the Elbe for 23 days, examining the river for pollutants and microplastics. We took them across the port of Hamburg and accompanied them to the Ocean Science Exhibition on the Cap San Diego, where they were given a fitting reception by friends, family, supporters and sponsors. This was followed by an exciting symposium on the importance of water.
