EnviroNaut
EnviroNaut is an Erasmus+ project co-funded by the European Union
A course for environauts: Together with five partners, we have developed a sustainability course for employees in the water sports sector so that environmental officers in nautical tourism can better prepare themselves for the many questions and challenges in the industry and position themselves competently and sustainably.
EnviroNaut was developed between 2022 and 2024 and is funded by the European Union. Participants in the program were the Bundesverband Wassersportwirtschaft e.V., Sea Teach S.L., the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Frederick University Cyprus and the Deutsche Meeresstiftung. The aim of the project was to develop the first curriculum for the position of "Environmental Officer in Nautical Tourism", in which the knowledge of representatives from business, science and society is bundled and combined into an attractive training course. This curriculum is now offered as a modular online course and serves as a continuous professional development program, which was previously lacking in this sector.
The online training program leads to a certified qualification as a sustainability manager in water sports. All those who successfully complete the course receive a Europe-wide qualification as an Environmental Officer from the European shipping industry.
