We give the ocean a voice because it is irreplaceable for our survival and well-being and it has no other lobby. The ocean is our passion and we love to make the connections between the ocean and us humans visible and tangible.

Maritime policy
We need a sustainable marine policy for the well-being of our societies. Based on independent scientific findings, we are committed to the development of a sustainable marine policy, because in democratic societies it also steers the protection and viability of our ocean in Germany, Europe and internationally.

Education
We are committed to improving marine education in Germany and Europe, because we still know far too little about the ocean. We can achieve ocean literacy by inspiring and educating our current and future generations.

Research
In domestic and international coastal waters and estuaries, the research and media ship ALDEBARAN offers a low-carbon, flexible and attractive platform for encounters between marine research and the media and a sought-after place for young researchers to realize their own ideas.

Communication
With our decades of experience, we know how to bring the ocean to people and into the classroom through the media, events, exhibitions, trade fairs and festivals. With our multimedia exhibition Ocean Science in Hamburg, the Ocean Festival in Berlin, a series of ocean conferences and our "love your ocean" area at boot Düsseldorf, we reach thousands of people every year.
