Ocean Conference Series
The Ocean Conference Series consists of three online dialogues focussing on the Ocean Decade, as well as a live event, the Ocean Forum, which takes place at boot Düsseldorf.
The three Ocean Dialogues 2025 will focus on the first three outcomes of the Decade: a clean ocean, a healthy and resilient ocean and a productive ocean. The future Ocean Decade Dialogues in 2026 will be dedicated to the remaining outcomes - a predicted, safe, accessible and inspiring ocean.
Representatives from science, business, politics and society have the unique opportunity during the dialogues to find out more about the challenges facing the ocean and how interdisciplinary approaches can support ocean protection.

Representatives from universities, NGOs and researchers give short and concise presentations to raise the audience's awareness of the urgent concerns of our ocean and encourage concrete action for marine conservation.
The Ocean Forum focuses on the seven goals of the UN Ocean Decade. The aim of the Ocean Forum is to create more awareness and to link the commitment, actions and activities of the speakers with the Ocean Decade.

Marine conference series 2011 - 2013
On the initiative of the Lübeck-based Dräger Foundation , the most renowned marine researchers from Europe and the USA launched a series of marine conferences in Hamburg in June 2011 to protect the oceans more effectively. The conference series was continued in New York in 2012 and concluded with a final conference in Lisbon in 2013. The aim of the "Sustainable Oceans: Reconciling Economic Use and Protection" series was to integrate the latest scientific findings more quickly and directly into political action. Around 70 scientists and lawyers discussed the value of the oceans and the environmentally sound use of their vast energy resources.
