Orchestra of change in the Wadden Sea

A special natural spectacle: in the Wadden Sea off the German North Sea coast, Europe's largest breeding ground for migratory birds, the water releases a sandbank for an hour at the rhythm of the tides.

On a sunny September day in 2022, the ALDEBARAN set sail to reach this very sandbank. On board were a cello quartet from Orchester des Wandels, a film crew and Hamburg sound engineer Volker Zeigermann. Despite wind speeds of up to 60 km/h, he managed to make an original audio recording with virtually no background noise.

The aim of the campaign is to draw attention to the ongoing destruction of nature caused by marine pollution and climate change. Contaminated silt from the ever-deeper dredged Elbe is being dumped here illegally, depriving numerous bird species and marine animals of their habitat. Do we want to look on indifferently as the greed of large corporations continues to destroy our planet?

Be inspired by the music, the water and the birds: because what you love, you should protect!
