Ocean Literacy World Conference in Venice

The conference brings together ocean literacy and ocean education communities from around the world to promote a harmonious relationship between people and the ocean.

To reaffirm joint efforts for equity and justice, the Venice Declaration for Ocean Literacy in Action was developed and signed during the conference. This declaration contains concrete recommendations for the inclusion of ocean literacy in policy-making efforts and represents an important milestone in the preparatory process for the third UN Ocean Conference (UNOC3).
